benjamin gets in touch with his redwood side.

it was really warm.

fencers continue to do their thing.

day three, stewart park. fencers do their thing.

those great windows are the tops of buildings on the commons. the shiny vile thing in the back is the new hotel/office building.

another kid, dancing as the weather takes a turn for the worse.

i have no idea what was going on here. draw your own conclusions.

yes, that is a male belly dancer. no, i am not making this up.

way to ruin the shot, lady. *sigh*

bluegrass duet.

a hat lady chooses jewelry.

people in a jar! yes!

i LOVE these things. they also had spoons and cutting boards and picture frames and and and

handmade brooms at the craft fair on cayuga street.

marley. there were three drummers in the background. "free africa" or some such, i don't remember exactly.

but at least he had cool shoes and a bowler.

this character was stoned. thoroughly.

more teenyboppers. why do they group in threes? (note the contrast between the lady of the lace and these clowns.)

whisper of another age...

aging hippy-intellectuals dance to the bluegrass band.

guy in a gold cape and leather flight helmet.

even more random cute children. (do you know, i really like taking pictures of little kids. they're so photogenic.)

a trio of teenyboppers.

it was a warm day.

on our way to the festival. benjamin didn't take well to my arrangement of the chive flower he'd picked for me...

on to day two! benjamin and marie and i began at the market, where this guy was singing gospel. quite proficiently, i might add.

gail patrice regales us with workplace hilarity.

and...mature daughter. (much kudos here for that fantastic pose.)

young daughter...

the ithaca festival is not complete without its daughters of <insert indian goddess here>.

another classic. notice the belly dancer on the left...

happy spectators, young and old.

the red dress reposes.

a breeze catches the red dress.

continuing to waltz

more waltzing

the musicians began waltzing, and the audience followed.

benjamin and i both had the same thought when this mother joined the kitchen chair throng.

this is classic. a dog lady. the dog sits in the stroller, which is also where she stores the bright yellow folding stool. notice the wide-brimmed hat.

another random cute small child. dad thinks she missed.

benjamin grooves.

more spectators. very ithacan, though i think i'm getting some evil glares. they can go elsewhere, i like taking pictures.

the kitchen chair crowd. this is located just west of the heart of the commons.

random cute small child, watching kitchen chair.

kitchen chair. we almost got them for the wedding. ah well, it was much fun to see them here.

the salsa dancers (dancing, unfortunately, to a recording). fun to watch, yo. i love watching dancers who know what they're doing.

yours truly. i think i was putting sunscreen on. i burned anyway.
